OOima
OOima users can create a Group to share common interests, posts, photos or videos.
To view or create Groups, navigate to the
hamburger menu
on the navigation bar, and choose the Groups option.
Tap the Create link to the right of the Groups page to create a Group.

The Group creation page will pop up.
Enter the Group name and a brief description of the Group. The Description field is not a required field.
Select the kind of Privacy you want for your group.
Open means any user can find and join your group. The content on the Group page will also be visible to everyone.
Private means anyone can find and request to join the group. Only members you approve can view other members and contents of your Group.
Tap / Click Create
Note: Once you’ve chosen a privacy setting for your group, you cannot change it.
Only the Group admin can edit the name or description of the group, and change the group photo.
Open the Group page that you want to edit.
To change the Group photo, tap on the Add Photo icon
that is on the bottom right of the current Group photo, and choose another photo to upload.
To edit and change the Group's name or description, tap on the ellipsis icon to the right of the Group name, and then select the

Edit group name or description option from the popup menu. Edit the name or description on the popup window and save the changes.
To join a public group
- Go to the group page and tap on the Join button that is below the Group name and description.
To join a private group

Go to the group page and tap on the Request button that is below the Group name and description.
The Group admin will see your requst and will either approve or deny your request.
Once approved, you will have access to the group content.
- Visit the group page.

Tap on the ellipsis icon
to the right of the group name to open the popup menu and select View Members
- If you are a group admin, you will have access to the Requests tab that will be to the left of the Members tab.
- Tap on the Approve tab to approve a user request.
To deny or reject a request, tap on the ellipsis icon
to the right of the Accept button, and select the Deny request option.
Group admins can moderate groups by:
- Managing group settings like the group name, description, and cover photo.
- Removing messages from the group.
- Removing users from the group.
- Approving membership requests in private groups.
How do I become a group admin?
The creator of the group is automatically the group admin. To become a group admin in a group created by another user, they must make you an admin. You can see who the current admins of a group are by checking the "members" section in the group.
How can I as a group admin add additional group admins?
- On the group page, view the members of that group by selecting the View Members from the group menu.
- on the Members tab, select the ellipses icon against a user whom you want to make admin. Select the Make group Admin option.
How do I step down from being a group admin?
If you are a group admin, you can step down to being a group member by finding your name
in the group members list, selecting the ellipse icon
and choosing Dismiss as admin.
Does OOima ever remove group admins?
Yes. OOima may remove group admins for any of the following reasons:
- If a group admin consistently fails to enforce OOima's policies or to generally moderate the group.
- If a group admin is not acting on requests to join a private group.
- If a group admin becomes inactive.
- If OOima believes it’s in the best interest of the group.
Does OOima ever remove groups?
Yes. The following content/activity is prohibited in both public and private groups, and may result in group removal and/or removal/suspension of a group admin:
- Inappropriate group names, photos, or descriptions: Group profiles that contain profanity, hate speech, sexually explicit content or other content that violates OOima policies are not allowed.
- Impersonation or misrepresentation: This includes groups pretending to be “official” representations of people, brands, businesses, or organizations, as well as groups using false or misleading group names, photos, or descriptions with the intention of obscuring a group’s intended purpose.
- Hate speech/hate groups.
- Organizing/promoting violence or harm
- Promotion of prohibited goods and services: This includes but is not limited to: gambling, age-restricted substances, alcohol/drug rehabilitation groups, and sexually explicit content or services.
- Failure to moderate: Group admins are expected to moderate their groups and remove content violating OOima's policies. Lack of moderation or inconsistent moderation may result in group removal or removal of admin status.
- Best interests of OOima's user community: OOima may remove groups which undermine OOima's purpose.
